Job Overview
We are looking for a patient, optimistic, and multilingual Holistic Learning & Movement Instructor, willing to teach and train our children, and ideally, travel with our family, as required. Fluency in French and English are required, while Spanish and Italian fluency are nice additions.
We are a multilingual family excited to welcome someone into our family’s team.
Experience with the following methods is preferred: Montessori, WPPSI, French system (école matèrnelle – grande séction), ISEE, and Singapore Math. A high-level lesson plan is in place, but open for refinement, as agreed upon by the parents. The current schedule is six to seven hours per day, six days per week.
A dedicated, compassionate, and energetic Holistic Learning & Movement Instructor will support and guide our curious, bright, and resilient child in a mostly one-on-one, in-home setting. This unique position blends academic instruction with purposeful physical development, making it ideal for someone who is both passionate about education and experienced and certified in physical therapy for children with diverse motor pathways.
US locations include Suffolk County, NY and Miami-Dade County, FL. The candidate must be local in one of the two locations (adjacent counties are acceptable). Ideally, a candidate is willing to travel with the family. Please note, this role is in person, and the family is not seeking a virtual instructor. Live-in versus live-out status is based on a successful candidate’s preference.
Offer is competitive and negotiable, commensurate with experience. Salary is negotiable based on ability to exceed qualifications and commensurate experience. Payments are made twice per month. This role does require employer-provided uniform/dress-code.
Responsibilities and Duties
You will serve as both a homeschool instructor and a movement specialist/physical therapist, providing structured academic lessons and leading daily physical therapy sessions that promote strength, mobility, and confidence. An ideal candidate believes that children thrive with individualized attention, hands-on activities, and a growth-oriented environment that celebrates progress in every form.
As an Holistic Learning & Movement Instructor, you will be responsible for duties including:
- Maintaining close supervision of child
- Ensuring child is adheres to academic calendar, including lessons, activities, and exams
- Executing daily lesson plans
- Administering, modifying, grading, and creating exams and lessons
- Maintaining homeschool compliance requirements
- Executing against homeschool requirements
- Motivating children to be the best they can be
- Executing care plans, as related to school, in accordance with schedule
- Maintaining a positive, empowering, upbeat attitude and leading by example
- Performing light housework responsibilities related to care of child, including laundry and room maintenance
Key Responsibilities
Academic Instruction:

Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies

Integrate multi-sensory learning strategies and outdoor exploration when appropriate

Encourage curiosity, independence, and creativity through project-based learning and play

Monitor academic progress and adjust the curriculum to meet evolving learning goals

Collaborate with parents to ensure consistency and alignment in learning objectives
- Related assignments, as instructed by the parents
Therapeutic Movement & Physical Development (PT – 3 hours/day):

Implement individualized physical therapy sessions, focusing on strength-building, flexibility, balance, and motor planning

Incorporate evidence-based techniques and creative movement activities tailored to our child’s unique abilities and goals

Track progress and adapt therapy plans as needed, in coordination with family and other healthcare professionals

Foster a positive, encouraging space that supports persistence, resilience, and body confidence
- Related assignments, as instructed by the parents
Who You Are
-
CPR and First Aid Certified
-
Have 1–3 years of paid teaching experience, with a strong foundation in early or elementary education

Have 1–3 years of experience working with children with unique physical or developmental abilities
-
Hold a degree in Physical Therapy and/or Elementary or Early Childhood Education

Experienced in adhering to and exceeding educational standards, with a commitment to academic excellence
-
Able to safely and properly lift at least 50 pounds, supporting physical therapy work and mobility as needed

Able to pass all required background checks

Gifted-Endorsed and/or Teaching Certification preferred

NICU nursing experience or familiarity with medically complex pediatric care preferred

Early Childhood Education background preferred

Comfortable working in a no-pet household (service animals welcome)
